Russia ships remdesivir drug to India as part of humanitarian aid

Moscow: Russia on Tuesday shipped a generic version of the remdesivir antiviral drug called Remdeform to India as part of its humanitarian aid contributions to the South Asian country which is fighting a surge in COVID-19 cases, video footage showed and a source told Reuters.
This is the third delivery of humanitarian aid from Russia to India during the coronavirus pandemic, after it previously sent shipments including artificial lung ventilators, oxygen equipment and drugs, TASS reported.
A 41-year-old Key Largo man was arrested Saturday after a litany of drugs, syringes and pipes were found in his possession.
Bryce Dennis Oliphant was charged with multiple counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia. He also had a warrant for smuggling contraband into a detention facility.
Sgt. Nick Whiteman was pumping gas at the Marlin gas station in Islamorada at approximately 11 a.m. when a Nissan sedan parked at the gas pump next to him. Sgt. Whiteman noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the car. He also noticed the female driverâs two children â ages 13 and 14 â where sharing the single front passenger seat. The driver stated she did not have a medical marijuana card. She stated the male in the backseat was smoking marijuana. The male in the backseat, later identified as Oliphant, appeared nervous.

New Delhi [India], May 24 (ANI): Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday said that the government is putting in all efforts to ramp up the production of Amphotericin-B in the country as well as importing 7 lakh vials of the drug through Indian companies to fulfill the requirements for the high demand of the medicine caused by a sudden surge in black fungus cases.
